What is SEND?

SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. It refers to children and young people who have learning difficulties or disabilities that impact their ability to learn compared to their peers. This means they may require additional support or different learning strategies to reach their full potential. People living with SEND can of course be of any age, and so Sutton offers an inclusive support system for all.

Caring for someone with SEND.

Caring for someone with SEND can be difficult and often tiring. Support groups offer the opportunity to take some time away from your caring role; to learn, share, offload and exchange ideas, experiences and information.

Our TfS partner, Sutton Carers Centre, offer support to all Carers. You don't have to be struggling to get support or join groups, but if you are struggling and you feel it may be hard to come along, please get in touch with the Sutton Carers Centre so that you can discuss how they can support you.
